“A midsummer Night's Dream” shows the third river concert by Chesapeake Orchestra

“A midsummer Night's Dream” shows the third river concert by Chesapeake Orchestra

St. Mary's City, Md. .

The performance led by music director Jeffrey Silberschlag contained concertmaster José Cueto as a soloist for “Violin Concerto in E Minor”, a technically demanded 30-minute routine that came from the hundreds of concert visitors who visited themselves from the entire county of a River series program to enter the 27th year.

The concert program was previously played in the Alba Music Festival in May, also by Silberschlag.

As the name suggests, Mendelssohn's “A Midsummer Night's Dream” is inspired by Shakespeare's piece of the same name, and the music should express the pictures of these famous scenes. In a conversation with the audience, Silberschlag said before the performance said that the long grades from the strings should represent the sound of the wings or fairies of a butterfly, while later in “The Dance of the Clowns” lower instruments such as the bassoons such as the “HEE-HAW” by an Eskey or more special Botto-Botto game from the bowl.

The event was accompanied by 10 food trucks, which sold a large number of kitchen, from Jamaican jerk to Korean grill to American classics. The food trucks can be set up along College Drive and usually open between 6 p.m. and 6.15 p.m. They remain open until the end of the performance.

As part of the reporting on Baynet's event, we took a handful of pictures of concert visitors who enjoyed the celebrations that were found below. A big thank you to everyone who took part!
