Teenager confesses

Billings – a teenager with Billings has been guilty of conscious murder for the death of a Rocky Mountain College football player.

Sidney Cruz Decran Jr. appeared on Tuesday before the judge at the district court of Yellowstone County, Donald Harris, and admitted the indictment on October 28, 2023 for the death of 18-year-old Chandler Stalcup. Decrane was 16 at the time of the shootout, but he was prosecuted as an adult.

In a plea agreement, the public prosecutor is asked to recommend 75 years in prison.

A hearing for conviction still has to be planned. Decrane remains custody.

A co -accused, Garrett Jarvis Door III, who was 17 years old at the time of the shootout, was sentenced to 60 years in prison in April.

Stalcup, a newcomer to Rocky Mountain College from Florida, was shot after he had arrived to pick up a friend at a late night house party on which a fight broke out.

The authorities said that Stalcup was an innocent victim who was neither participating in the party nor was involved in the later fights.

The door was switched off in the fight in the area of the 1800 block of 15th Street West. He and other friends, including Decrane, then searched for another group who was probably looking for revenge.

The door drove a vehicle in the area when his passenger, Decrane, fired a ball into a vehicle driven by Stalcup, which was hit in the head and later died in a hospital.

The next day, the teenagers were arrested after the police found a vehicle that was involved as a fatal shootout in a residence in the Sauerth Lane.
