After an earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska, a tsunami warning was exhibited for parts of the coastal salasca, according to the US -Sunami warning system.

The national tsunami warning center said that a tsunami had been confirmed and that “some effects are expected”. The center also found that there was no threat to other Canadian and US coasts.

The tsunami was triggered on Wednesday afternoon by a quake of 7.3 magnites.

Tsunamis are a number of long waves caused by a large and sudden shift of water in the ocean, usually from a large earthquake on or below the sea floor. Tsunamis radiate in all directions from the epicenter and can lead to dangerous floods on coasts and strong currents that can take hours or days.

Experts warn that the sea water comes ashore shortly before a tsunami that can first be pulled at sea – which reveals large beach swaths and gives humans along the water a false feeling that a coast is safe.

If further information is available, officials can update, add or cancel Tsunami warnings.
