Richard Dreyfuss exchanged a fan event due to a severe case of bronchitis.

On Friday, the 77 -year -old “Jaws” star, 77, took social media to share a message with his fans in front of Sharkcon in Tampa, Florida and to express his disappointment about the diagnosis.

“Hello cooperation,” said Dreyfuss in a video that was posted on Sharkcon's Instagram account.

“Bronchitis,” replied Dreyfuss' Ms. Svetlana Erokhin outside the camera.

“I was told by my doctors that I couldn't fly and I would have to fly five hours to get there. I'm terribly sorry because I had planned to be there and I was looking forward to it, but I couldn't do it. I don't want to make anyone sick and I don't want to get sick myself.”

“I feel terrible when I don't appear and I feel worse when I seem to expose you to this seemingly very viral illness,” continued Dreyfuss. “But there will be different times and I'll make it my business to show up.”

Dreyfuss joked that he hopes that all of his fans “are very sorry for me and very sorry”.

“I have great pain and that has to be my first, my health,” he said. “I feel very good in time and enough health.”

“And so great fans!” His wife added.

“We love you, we all miss you and we will see you soon,” said Erokhin.

In the caption, Sharkcon wrote: “All prepaid autographs and photo surgeries are automatically refunded. There is no reason to reach. It takes 5-10 working days and what your bank takes to be processed. We are so sorry for inconvenience. Thank you.”

A representative of Dreyfuss did not immediately answer the request from FOX News Digital by comment.
