Several buildings of Manitou Springs City evacuated, publicly asked to search for higher soils


Manitou Springs, Colorado (KKTV) – Wednesday afternoon, the city of Manitou Springs asked the residents to search for higher soil due to a flood warning in the area.

Officials said that the city's facilities, including the Manitou Springs Pool & Fitness Center, the town hall of Manitou Springs and Park- und Mobility offices in the 400 Manitou Avenue, were evacuated due to the rising water level in Fountain Creek.

The residents asked for civil servants to be aware of the fall floods of small streams and streams, the urban floods in streets, highways and underpasses and sludge lids in steep terrain with rock, mud, vegetation and rubble.

From 2:19 p.m., officials said Doppler -Radar indicated that thunderstorms produce strong rainfall in the area, with one to two centimeters of rain.

Officials say that this warning is in force until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
