The suspect in the stolen vehicle stopped in Thornton with grappler

Thornton, Colorado (KKTV) – Wednesday, shortly before 4 a.m., the police from Colorado State Patrol and Thornton arrested a suspect that flees in a stolen vehicle with a grappler.

The soldiers said they were in the East 84th Avenue and the Grant Street area around 3:47 a.m. to help a police officer from Thornton who asked for help with a stolen RAM collection.

Soldiers said they could catch up with the ram and tried a handle, but it was unsuccessful. The ram then turned into the I-25 towards the south near the 84th Avenue, where soldiers said they tried again.

The second time, the soldier said to catch and stop the ram, and during the incident the patrol car was pulled into the left barrier on the I-25, deactivating the patrol car.

CSP says the soldier was not injured.

According to Troopers, the suspect ran, but was caught and arrested by the Thornton police.

The I-25 in the south was closed for a time for an examination, but was reopened at 5:20 a.m.
