Usyk vs. dubois II: public workout raises the promises that have been interrupted by … silence

Public training for Uyk vs. Dubois 2 not only built up a hype – it revealed a strong contrast of styles.

Dubois speaks, promises and strikes. Usyk hears, observes and waits.

Young people experience, grass root meets Elite, and London buzzes in Wembley before a historic night.

Sometimes public workouts ever say more than words. This London experienced a pulsating afternoon full of teenagers, talent, champions – and this unmistakable tension can only deliver boxes. Just a few days before Usyk vs. Dubois 2, which was eagerly awaited, the open training only added fuel to the fire in Wembley Stadium.

Before the headlights changed to the headliners on Saturday, the ring welcomed a wave of rising talent. Aadam Hamed – the “Prince” Nasem from the legendary “Prince” – showed himself in a special shop window from Ezequiel Geegores, Lewis Edmondson and Daniel Lapin. They were also accompanied by children from the BoxWise Foundation, a community initiative that uses boxes as an instrument for social development.

Lapin in particular led a spontaneous mini class that ended with applause. Smile, tiny gloves and big dreams filled the ring when music played and the anticipation for the big event that was built around them.

A four -round exhibition between Makohonenko and Machbold followed. The two young fighters showed Grit, hits and heart. There were no judges or official winners, but the crowd gave them the kind of ovations that are most important.

Dubois: Fire in his eyes, a promise on his lips

Then came the man of the hour: Daniel Dubois. Before he entered the ring, a short video was played that showed scenes from his training camp. But it was a statement that hit like a bolt out of the blue.

“The difference this time is that I will switch off USYK.”

Dubois carried a black T-shirt and a serious expression, climbed into the ring and let his hands fly. He looked quick, relaxed, coordinated and confident. A sermon after his session:

“I'm ready. Many thanks to all fans for your support. To become an undisputed champion would mean everything to me. I don't let this chance disappear.”

This was a man who knows that there is no tomorrow. It is Todo or Nada on Saturday.

Usyk: straws, shared chants and silence

Oleksandr Usyk, loyal, joined a mixed reaction in the ring – chesers of some, boos and catcalls for “The Cat”. He didn't say a word.

His training was short, but coded with a codicil with his signature “Straws”Thin plastic poles that he whips through the air to improve reflexes and sharpen the precision. That was it. It was what it was. He stepped back in silence, what is golden?
