Who hosts?

The stand-up comic Shane Gillis will organize the 33. Espys for ESPN. Gillis was recently held “Saturday Night Live” for a second time in March – a show in which he was briefly hired before his first season and shot because of a history of insensitive jokes. In June, the actor published the second season of his Netflix comedy “Tirs”, which was already renewed for a third party.

Although the ceremony has often been organized by actors and comedians, Gillis is a departure from last year's host, the sporty megastar Serena Williams. In the year before Williams, the Espys went due to the 2023 WGA strike without a single host. The former hosts include Anthony Mackie, John Cena and Macdonald.

Who are the nominees?

There are a number of categories that are presented at the Espys and recognize athletes and services through athletics. Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Shohei Ohtani are nominated in the best athlete, while Simone Biles, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas and A'ja Wilson make the best athlete category for women.
