Vancouver Whitecaps try to have regained the profit form with Matchup against Houston Dynamo

Vancouver – The Vancouver Whitecaps want to put their Major League Soccer season onto the rails.

After one of the best starts in the team history, the Whitecaps lost two MLS games in a row and four of the last five.

The Whitecaps (11-5-5) hope to get back on the track on Wednesday when they start in Texas in the Houston Dynamo (7-10-5).

The Caps will play their fourth game in 11 days when they fight against San Diego FC in the Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday.

The game in San Diego will be Vancouver's third street game in a row after making a 3-0 decision on the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening.

“We know that we weren't really as strong as at the beginning of the season,” said striker Daniel Rios after training this week. “It is part of every team. We don't panic.

“The way we approach these two (play) is to get the best possible points. We will do our best.”

Already on May 24th, the Whitecaps used a 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake to extend their unbeaten series to 14 games in all competitions and nine games in the MLS game. At that time, Vancouver led the league with a 9-1-4 record for 31 points.

Since then, Vancouver has been 3-4-3 in the 10 mls games. The whitecaps prove in the Western Conference with 38 points, four back, in the conference in San Diego, and are drawn to the eighth overall in the league classification.

In their last four losses, the Whitecaps were exceeded 13: 4 and three or more goals were abandoned three times, including a 5: 3 defeat against San Diego in the BC Place Stadium on June 25th.

“Colorado wasn't our best,” said defender Tate Johnson. “We have time to fix it.

“We know that things have to be better. We look forward to making two good games together next week.”

It should be noted positively that Vancouver scored a goal in the 90th minute on July 9 to defeat the Canadian Premier League team 2-1 to win the quarter-finals of the Canadian champion in Telus.

The dynamo is 2-4 in the last six games and sits 10th place with 26 points in the Western Conference.

“We know that they are a great team,” said Johnson. “We know that they have many threats, they are very well organized.

“We have to make sure that we are able to put together good performance.”

Head coach Jesper Sorensen said that his team does not need to overhaul, just do something.

“We must have done at a better level than we do,” said Sorensen. “It is not only in terms of structure and discipline. We have to be harder and get into the game and start it better.”

Vancouver also deals with the future of the Ecuadorean midfielder Pedro Vite.

The team and vite had agreed on an extension of the contract through the 2029 season. But Axel Schuster, Chief Executive Officer and Sports Director of Vancouver said that the deal included an agreement that the team would take into account all offers for VITE from other clubs.

It was reported that the Mexican side of Pumas Unam turned to the Whitecaps about Vite, which is second with four goals in the team and leads with six templates.

“We have received an offer that we at least consider,” said Schuster. “We focus on the job that lies in front of us. We have a few days when we will go through it.

“It's a bit unhappy, but it's also what business is.”

Pumas was one of the teams who defeated the Whitecaps on their trip to the Concacaf Champions Cup final, which they had lost 5-0 against Cruz Azul.

Vite will not be available for the game on Wednesday. Both the defender Tristan Blackmon (knee tendon) and midfielder Andres Cubas (ankle) are questionable.
