Maurene Comey, the daughter of the former FBI director James Comey, was released on Wednesday by her job as a public prosecutor in Manhattan's US public prosecutor. An official of the Ministry of Justice confirmed Fox News.

Comey most recently worked on the law enforcement of Sean “Diddy” Combs and previously criminal sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein and his associated Ghislaine Maxwell.

The reason for her dismissal as a senior Trial Counsel in the US law firm for the southern district of New York was not immediately clear.

The US law firm did not immediately answer a call from FOX News Digital.

Comey's father was released by President Donald Trump during the first term after his initiation of the Russia investigation.
