Toronto FC Hope for Socal setback with the first trip to San Diego

The journey from Toronto FC to San Diego on Wednesday is not just another street game – it is a symbolic turning point in the club's 2025 season.

After Star striker Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi have now officially left, the Reds has been driving a new chapter in the history of the club in the wild vest for the first time since their outputs.

TFC (4-10-6, 18 points) will compete in the San Diego FC (13-6-3, 42 points) in the Snapdragon stage on Wednesday evening in the first meeting between the two clubs against the Rothot expansion page. In many ways, it is an ideal evidence of a page of Toronto FC that is looking for a new identity in the transition, but it will not be easy.

“The biggest will be our commitment, and that's exactly what I expect,” said head coach Robin Fraser on Tuesday during training.

While a large part of the ramp light with the outcome of its two Italian players fades, TFC arrives in South California, which built quietly shape. The Reds have collected points in three of their last four games and remain unbeaten this season (2W-2T) against the opponents of the Western Conference (2W-2T), including victories over Real Salt Lake and Portland.

San Diego flies in her debut campaign. Under the direction of head coach Mikey Varas and Danish Star Anders Dreyer, who leads MLS with 15 templates and 11 goals, the expansion outfit leads the West and has the best gate difference in the league (+16).

Snapdragon Stadium, the venue with 35,000 seats on the San Diego State University campus, promises a rough environment. For Toronto FC, however, it also offers the option of testing its post-superstar structure against the most exciting new team in the league.

“This is a group that is quite uniform at the moment,” said Fraser. “Even people who only have minimal injuries is not as if someone wants to stay at home. Everyone wants to be together, because the feeling that we are trying to get together that we are all together and that we all have to pull our own weight.

“It feels mentally in a good room. We just have to support it physically and do the things we have to do.”

On Saturday, the soul breams returned 1-1 with Atlanta United, who returned the most important characters Richie Lyea and Deybi Flores. The latter achieved his second goal of the season. The contributions of young Canadians like Kosi Thompson, who recently appeared to his 100th appearance, indicate that the reds change to a more sustainable, team -oriented future.

Since the MLS summer transfer window offers the opportunity to bring in new blood, many of the currently in the squad will play in the squad that they play to keep their places. This could only be the motivation that this team needs to transform good performances into points.
