Around 10,000 without electricity in the Northern Capitol Hill – Update

Look at the latest failures

Almost 10,000 customers in North Capitol Hill, North Broadway, and along the eastern 23rd Ave Edge des Hills were without electricity on Monday afternoon. Seattle City Light examined the failure, but reports on wires along the Lakeview Blvd sheet seemed to have been the guilty.

The failure was first reported shortly before 3 p.m. City Light said it was working on restoring the failure with an estimated restoration time from 6 p.m.

911 callers reported on an exploded transformer and wires and deleted the scene in the 1300 block of the Lakeview Blvd E. Seattle Fire to take care of immediate danger before the city's light crews could start working on repairs.

Update 4:35 p.m.: The failures were tapped in half with a core area without electricity between I-5 and Broadway.

Update X2: City Light reported on the failure repairs shortly after 10 p.m.

The cause of the wire damage was attributed to a “large handled tree”.

Many companies in North Broadway announced that they were closed for the night on Monday afternoon.
