Aryna Sabalenka pulls out of Montreal to rest openly in front of us

Montreal-and first-class Aryna Sabalenka has withdrawn from the National Bank Open and decided for an additional break before she begins preparations for her US Open title defense.

“I look forward to starting the North American hard court swing, but to give me the best chance of success this season, I decided that it was my best interest to skip Montreal,” said Sabalenka on Wednesday in a explanation of the tournament.

Sabalenka made it into the semi -finals in Wimbledon, where she lost to Amanda Anisimova.

The National Bank Open begins on July 27th. Instead, Sabalenka could return to the Cincinnati Open in early August. The first round of the US Open set began on August 24th. Sabalenka won this title for the first time in 2024.

The tournament also announced that Paula Badosa had withdrawn to an injury. Caty McNally and Moyuka Uchijima replaced Sabalenka and Badosa in the main draw.
