The new report reveals alleged Superman salaries for James Gunn, David Coreenswet, Rachel Brosahnhan and Nicholas Hoult, claim Wonder Woman, to quickly follow over Superman 2

A new report on Superman has supposedly revealed the salaries of his top stars as well as the writer and director James Gunn and created an indication of where the DC studios leads next.

Variety said Gunn deserved 20 times more than David Corenswet, the relative newcomer, who played Superman / Clark Kent, and Rachel Brosahhan, who played Lois Lane. Corenswet and Brosehan each earned 750,000 US dollars, and Gunn took home $ 15 million. Accordingly, this applies in addition to Gunn's seven-digit salary as CO CEO from DC Studios. However, the more established Nicholas Hoult earned 2 million US dollars from the play of Lex Luthor.

The relatively modest salaries of his stars were quoted by some as holding Superman's production budget. Variety reported that Superman cost the production of 225 million US dollars and $ 125 million for the market worldwide, which markets about 350 million US dollars for the total output of $ 350 million.

The question is now, is Superman a success for the parent company Warner Bros.? In view of the film that started last week, it is too early to say. In Germany, Superman started at 122 million US dollars during the publication weekend at the box office, which was sufficient to make it the greatest starting start for a Solo -Superman film that was not adapted to inflation.

Superman's strong North American start is the largest superhero film opening weekend since the billion dollar Deadpool & Wolverine in summer, which reached $ 211 million in Germany. This means that Superman started bigger than Marvels Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* / The New Avengers. It is also the biggest DC film in a long time and the first one who has reached a domestic start of 100 million US dollars since Wonder Woman in 2017.

Internationally, however, Superman started with 95 million US dollars soft, which some analysts describe a disappointment. As Variety noted, Warner expected Bros. this because Superman is associated with the long -standing motto of the figure “Truth, Justice and American Way”.

It is also worth noting that the global weekend of Supermans is 217 million US dollars less than Zack Snyders Man of Steels if it is adapted to inflation. Like Gunns Superman, Snyders Man of Steel restarted the DC Cinematic Universe.

So what happens next? According to Variety, Warner Bros. is pursuing his already announced Wonder Woman film and is enthusiastic about Matt Reeves' recently submitted script for Batman 2, which will be released in October 2027.

Will we see Superman 2 at some point? Warner Bros. has continuation options for Corenswet and Brosahnhan, reported Variety, but a continuation announcement “does not seem to be imminent”.

There are of course other DCU films that are confirmed that they are in the works. Both Supergirl and Clayface start 2026 and Gunn also work on their own Batman film, although there is no publication date.
