'The Odyssey' tickets are offered for sale a year before Christopher Nolan's opening

“A Journey Begins” is the slogan for Christopher Nolan's next film “The Odyssey”. Only a few film lovers expected the search to start so early.

Imax tickets for “The Odyssey” are sold on July 17, 2025 – a whole year before the Epic of the Universal Pictures Action occurs on the big screen. But there is a restriction: tickets are only available in film cinemas with IMAX 70 -mm screens (the preferred format of the director) -and only for selected times. Tickets for other formats and demonstrations are likely to be sold much, much closer to the film date of the film.

Universal and IMax refused to comment.

It is rare for a studio to sell tickets So Far in advance, but the anticipation for Nolan's cinematic follow-up on “Oppenheimer” 2023 is high, which further confirmed the director after the creation of astonishing $ 975 million worldwide as a box office speed and won the Oscar for the best picture.

Universal's marketing department is already becoming work before “The Odyssey” has even completed production. An approximately tiny teaser trailer for “The Odyssey” was recently unveiled exclusively in cinemas in front of the demonstrations for “Jurassic World Rebirth” and “Superman”, which were opened excited over a year before the film's release date. The teaser officially debuted online and connected Nolan's prioritization of the experience of the large screen for many years.

Nolan is back together with Universal, the studio that supported “Oppenheimer”. The film will be released on July 17, 2026.

“The Odyssey” will be the first film that was completely shot with IMAX cameras. Nolan has been a loyalist of the high-tech format in 2008 since his superhero epic “The Dark Knight”, which used the first Hollywood publication for IMAX cameras for selected action sequences. Since then, Nolan Imax cameras for films such as “Inception” from 2010, “Interstellar” 2014 and “Tenet” 2020 has used a certain scale and a certain scale.

Oppenheimer in particular became a force in IMAX, whereby the Premium format contributed massive 20% of the total cash cinten. Some cinephiles crossed the national borders to see the film in 70 mm Imax and to have sold out auditories for weeks. By inserting tickets for “The Odyssey”, which are sold so far in advance, it is clear that Universal and IMAX expect Nolan's latest demand to increase in the largest and brightest screens in the world.
