GBI arrests two in connection with the death of the 8 -year -old

Bainbridge – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested two people in connection with the death of an 8 -year -old from Georgia.

The GBI, 49 years old, from Bainbridge, GA, with a second degree three degrees and the possession of a firearm with a convicted criminal and a 13-year-old with a murder of crimes and a counting of an intensified attack in connection with the death of an 8-year-old boy.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, around 11:40 p.m., the GBI was requested from the Sheriff of the Decatur County to help with an 8-year-old boy.

During the investigation, it was found that the victim was shot by a 13-year-old relative with a firearm that was available in the house in the 3000 block of the Vada Road in Bainbridge, GA. No adults were present at the shootout, but there was another 1-year-old child in the house. The 1-year-old was not injured during the incident. The deputies of the Sheriff office of the Decatur County arrived after receiving a 911 call on site and found that the 8-year-old had died of the injuries he had suffered from the shootout.

The 8-year-old's body was sent to the GBI criminal laboratory for the autopsy.

Perkins and the 13-year-old were arrested on July 15, 2025. Perkins was instructed to the Decatur County prison and the 13-year-old was instructed in the youth criminal center Decatur County.
