Dramatic crash closes the busy Calgary Road during the main traffic time in the afternoon – Calgary

A crash that landed a police officer to the hospital in Calgary closed a route on Wednesday afternoon on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of Crowchild Trail and 24 Avenue Northwest around 2:45 p.m. and included two vehicles.

One of the vehicles was a Calgary Police Cruiser who was on the side at the intersection.

“One of our members was on the way to an injury collision call with its emergency equipment, which went through the intersection of the 24th Avenue and the Crowchild Trail and collided south with an oncoming vehicle on the crowchild to the south,” said Staff SGT. Lee Stanton from Calgary Police Service.

Three people, including the official, were taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.

The officials had to close the crowchild trail between 5 Avenue and 32 Avenue Northwest, while members of the CPS collision reconstruction unit examined.
