Overnight storms bring flood risks


For a large part of the U -Bahn area of Kansas City, a fall flood warning will apply until Thursday at 4:45 a.m. The National Weather Service says that storms have already dropped 1 to 3 inch rain, with further 0.5 to 2 inches possible overnight. Rain and scattered thunderstorms remain likely in the early morning. The heaviest precipitation is expected between midnight and 7 a.m., which may affect commuting on Thursday morning. The conditions will gradually improve until late morning. The day will be much cooler, with heights of around 79 degrees. Rain is probably until noon, but drier conditions are expected in the afternoon. The heat will return this weekend, with the heights reaching 100 degrees in the mid -1990s until the middle of the week.
