Seattle – A fire in an underground electrical vault thrown electricity on Wednesday evening on Wednesday evening to more than 21,000 customers in Nord -Seattle.

The supply company stated that the power supply was restored to 15,000 customers who were affected in the evening at 10 p.m. The crews continued to work on the remaining residences and buildings without electricity.

The failure initially affected around 4,700 customers in the districts of Northgate and Victory Heights. The crews were sent to investigate and later reported a fire in a vault near the Avenue North and North 107th Street.

At 8:25 p.m., City Light said that additional electric feeder had become offline to enable safe access to the devices and to expand the failure to around 21,000 customers.

Seattle Fire Crews reported on site that smoke came out of the vault. No injuries were reported and firefighters confirmed that there was no active fire before they handed over the scene to Seattle City Light.

An estimated recovery time has not yet been determined. Information about the cause of the fire was not immediately available.
