Hot, moist and stormy: The weather on Thursday is a flushing and repetition for the DC region

Thursday is a typical July day: hot, moist and possibly stormy. Regardless of whether you go to work, plan a picnic or just absorb the summer mood, let yourself be prepared for the heat and keep an eye on the sky.

Thursday brings the heat – literally.

The temperatures over the DC area will climb into the low until the mid-1990s, but the humidity will feel the “feels” up to Brutal 100-105.

The National Weather Service published heat advice from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with 7News first Alert Meteorologist Eileen Whalen calling on Thursday as a “summer spiral”.

“Plan a mixture of sun and clouds all day long, with the chance of storms that were classified in the afternoon and evening,” said Whalen. “All pop-up storms could bring a quick downpour and gusty wind.”

The region is located on a “border” risk for storms, but most of the city parts will stay dry compared to Wednesday. Slow evening storms caused some damage in the DC region and led to a rescue of Swift water in Gainesville, Virginia.

The weather follows consecutive days with sticky heat, crowned with shower against late day and thunderstorms that growl and led the traffic. The storms caused several flood problems on Monday evening, including mud and debris in drainage pipes on some main streets in the region.

Friday and Saturday will continue the weather trend of warm and moist conditions with the possibility of storms in the afternoon. The temperatures will take place in the middle of 80s.

“Some storms could bring short heavy downpours and gusty winds,” said Whalen about the weather on Saturday. “It will not be a wash -up complex, but not a dry day either. Your best choice for outdoor plans is earlier a day.”

When the weekend subsides, typical summer weather returns on Sunday. The conditions will be sticky and cloudy and will take a shower and storm chances later. The maximum stalls are around 90 with heat index values from the mid -1990s up to almost 100.
