Kansas City Family Haus Damaged by flood floods

Kansas City, Kan. (KCTV) – A family in Kansas City is shocked after the flooding of fall has been significantly damaged.

Tamika Pledger said she was at work early Thursday morning when the rain started. When she came home, the storm had turned into an emergency for her family.

“I was at work and came back home because the children said that the water was in a certain line,” said Pledger.

A stream runs through Plandger's garden near p. 53 and metropolitan. She said the stream rose quickly and flooded into her house.

The fall floods hurried through the garage into the house of Pledger and damaged the garage gate.

“I got a call from my daughter, my Grand role screamed that there was water into the house. They all tried to throw things into the door,” said Pledger.

Silge covered the family's things after the water had decreased.

“When I came home, it was worse than I ever imagined. There is nothing you can do,” said Pledger.

There was a waterline in the house and showed that water feet were hatched through the back door and the garage into the house.

“My granddaughter, my daughter and my dog were down. My dog was almost thrown away. My daughter picked up my dog and had to pick it up while she was under water,” said Pledger.

The family is now working on saving what they can, but Pledger said, the most important thing is that they still have each other.

The family said that the flooding of the fall occurred in 10 minutes and decreased within five minutes.
