The Open 2025 Live updates: round 1 points and ranking when Rory McIlroy starts his round

Somewhat remarkably, Rory McIlroy is the only man with his approach on the green after these three T shots.

McIlroy has his ball very well from the rough and muscles on the green. It accused the green side before it continued and a piece of the wrong front caught. He went to the putt with a monster with 70 feet and a huge slope.

Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas both shot on the back of the green, only so that their balls roll off their backs. But they would still prefer where they are than where McIlroy is.

First McIlroy on … and he was 4 feet from the pen. That is an excellent effort. Fleetwood decides to bring the edge through the edge and ends at a very similar distance. But Thomas makes a sad mistake! He doesn't get enough and his ball makes it on the green.

The American misses the par putt, as well as McIlroy, who glides after the hole and a past of 4 feet. Both have to be satisfied with Bogey. Fleetwood is the only one who confidently rolls his par putt home.
