Columbus Blue Jackets' Yegor Chinakhov says he wants trade after a dispute with coach Evason

The striker of Columbus Blue Jackets, Yegor Chinakhov, said in an explanation that was published on Thursday by his agent that he wanted to be traded by the team.

Chinakhov, a selection in the first round in 2020, quoted a dispute with head coach Dean Evason as his argumentation to want a setting.

According to Aaron Portzline from The AthleticThe blue jackets are aware of the trade request, but General Manager Don Waddell said that he would only move Chinakhov if he receives an acceptable offer. Portzline adds that Chinakhov will be in the training camp in September.

The 24-year-old winger had seven goals and 15 points in 30 games in 30 games in 30 games last season with the blue jackets, a decline of 16 goals and 29 points in 53 games in the previous year.

He will remain signed next season with a cap goal of 2.1 million US dollars.

“I had some misunderstandings with the coach during the season. Now I would be happy to have a trade. I would like to move to another place,” said Chinakhov, according to his agent Shumi Babaev on X.

Chinakhov gave his NHL debut with Columbus in the 2021-22 season and scored seven goals and 14 points in 62 games, which is still his career high for games in one season.

In 175 career games, the native Omsk, Russia, has 34 goals and 71 points.
