The Canadians fight from the goal at the open championship

The first round of the Open Championship has not yet been easy for the Canadians.

Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith and Mackenzie Hughes pulled the early tea Times on Thursday and largely fought for rounds over the par.

Conners, born from Listowel, Ontario, was the best of the three and shot a 3-over 74. Three from Conners' Bogeys at the top with four bogeys and a birdie before he was largely on his back. He was sitting for the 108th place at the end of his round.

Matt Fitzpatrick, Jacob Skov Olesen and Haotong Li held on Thursday morning with the early clubhouse with the world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler One at 3-lower.

Pendrith from Richmond Hill, Ontario, carded a four-over 75 while Dundas, ont. Mackenzie Hughes, fought for 8-over 79.

Pendrith started his round with a double bogey and also made two of the next three holes Bogey, causing him 4-over four. He got one back with a birdie in the fifth hole, but could not dig out of the hole and made two bogeys and a birdie the rest of the way. He was sitting in a tie for the 95th day on Thursday morning.

Hughes was in red after making Birdie on the Par 4 seconds hole, but that day made 10 Bogeys to take him to a tie for the 116th place. Brian Newman and KJ Choi (10-over) were the only players with higher points in the early Thursday morning.

Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, BC, was the fourth Canadian in the area in Northern Ireland this week. He pulled a T-shirt time in the afternoon and was in his first three holes 2.
