90% of the leaks in pipelines in Maradu clogged: KWA | Kochi News

Kochi: In a meeting of K Babu, MLA, about the acute drinking water shortages in the municipality of Maradu on Thursday that drinking water problems could be solved to a certain extent in many places in the region. Around 90% of the leaks identified in Pipelines in the region were connected last week, the KWA officers said the meeting. At a meeting last week, KWA officers were asked to repair licks in various parts of Maradu. The meeting also decided to pump water to Maradu every day without interruption and to provide water without charges. At the review meeting on Thursday, KWA officers insured that 15.5 mLD water can be regularly provided and pumped daily. “The process of installing a new pipe from Nettoor as a solution for the drinking water problem in the first division of the community is in the initial phase,” said Antony Ashanparambil, chairman of the municipal chairman.Babu said that the delay in giving funds had meant that contractors were not willing to fix many leaks on time. At the same time, opposition councils claim that some places in Maradu still lack acute drinking water. The deficiency is mainly due to water leaks.“The pumping into many parts of Kochi, including Maradu, has been improved. There are still leaks in many pipes. There are allegations that civil servants do not take proper measures to connect the leak. In certain cases, civil servants received the civil servants who asked them to explain the cause of delay in execution of such work,” said one civil servant of the Senior.“We take extensive measures to connect LECKS. If leaks are noticed for the KWA pipeline, the public should call the local council and inform them. The city councils will inform us and we can also connect these leaks,” said the civil servant.
