Hugo Ekikats: Liverpool finally one-striker Frankfurt striker in £ 70m plus

Hugo Ekitens is the latest success story of Eintracht Frankfurt's recruitment.

The Frenchman was not unknown when he was borrowed from Frankfurt for the first time in early 2024 but had fallen into a little hole. The striker had aroused the interest of other clubs, including Newcastle United, when he got through at Reims.

He decided to join Paris St-Germain, but was unable to break through in the middle of the embarrassment of wealth in the attack department.

Frankfurt picked him up and signed him with a constant deal a year ago. It served both as a lonely striker and in a partnership under Frankfurt Manager Dino Toppmoller.

In the first half of the last season, Ektiten and Omar Marmoush formed a fearsome pairing, but this was dissolved when Manchester City signed for £ 63 million in January.

Then Frankfurt did not experience a replacement for Marmoush and instead changed the tactical facility. In the second half of her campaign 2024-25, Ekikats played at the front, two attacking midfielder.

As far as Ekitikes playing style is concerned, he is versatile and not a striker who only feels at home in the box. When he played next to Marmoush, both positions exchanged constantly. Ekitics may not be the most dynamic player, but he can deal with defenders with intelligent moves.

His tactical understanding is one of his great strengths, not only in possession, but also when it comes to applying a high or midfield press.
