AG Pam Bondi in San Francisco visits Alcatraz to announce the reopening of Trump Administrator as Nancy Pelosi “stupid” idea

San Francisco (KGO) – The US general Prosecutor Pam Bondi and the Interior Minister Doug Burgum are in the Bay Area and visited Alcatraz on Thursday morning as part of the controversial plan to reopen the federal prison.

President Trump began reopening the site as a federal prison in May.

The congress is expected to introduce a legislation to end environmental protection for Alcatraz and to take control of the location through the National Park Service.

The plan has won a setback since the Trump government's announcement. Critics described it too expensive and a political stunt.

On Wednesday, the spokesman Emerita Nancy Pelosi called it “the stupidest initiative”.

The video of the ABC7 News Bay Area helicopter shows Bondi and Burgum Touring Alcatraz.

ABC News reports that the officials have only invited a FOX news camera to the visit, and it is still unclear what they announce.

According to the National Park Service, Alcatraz is currently generating an annual turnover of around 60 million US dollars.

According to estimates, the swinging of the island and the construction of a new prison would cost at least one quarter of a billion dollars.

“You closed Alcatraz because of the costs,” Pelosi told ABC7 News Bay Area. “And now they not only have the cost of running, they also have the billions of dollars that will take to transform it back into prison. So it is really economically unnotic, and if you want to spend money on prisons and public security, there are other areas that you can do.”

The proposal receives strong reactions from other managers.

The press office of the California governor Gavin Newsom published an explanation: “Pam Bondi will reopen Alcatraz on the same day as Trump publish the Epstein files. So … never.”

The mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Lurie, made an explanation: “There is no realistic plan to reopen Alcatraz as the wonderful tourist attraction.”

The Insider of ABC7 News Bay Area, Phil Matier, woke up the plans and a visit.

“He would like to make an explanation that he is hard in the crime,” said Matier. “He said Alcatraz worked, but at his time. It is time to bring it back to counter the crime of the city. But this does not make a mistake. This is a photo surgery. This is a advertising agent. This is a tour to catch the image of you in the Alcatraz -Dokatraz to capture the image of you. “A lot of money will convert to a federal prison and then work. It will need a lot of money, but will show and show drawings and show an explanation about it. That is much cheaper, and we'll see that right now.”
