Trump diagnoses with chronic venous insufficiency after swelling of the leg

President Donald Trump was examined for swelling in the legs and diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, the White House announced on Thursday.

The 79 -year -old Trump underwent a “comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies” with the medical department of the White House, said press spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, who reads from a note from the president's doctor, captain Sean Barbabella.

In Barbabella's note, it was found that “bilateral venous dopper ultrasound of the lower extremities and chronic venous insufficiency, ICD-9, showed a frequent illness, especially in people over 70 years.”

The examination came after Trump had “found a slight swelling in the lower leg in his lower legs in his lower legs,” said Leavitt.

Leavitt read Barbabella's note and said that there is “no evidence of deep venous thrombosis or an arterial disease”, and that Trump's laboratory tests are “within the normal borders”. Trump also underwent an echocardiogram in which “no signs of heart failure, kidney impairment or systemic illness were found,” she said.

Chronic venous insufficiency is a disease in which valves in certain veins do not function as they should, and so that part of the blood collects or collects in the veins. Around 150,000 people are diagnosed every year, and the risk increases with age. The symptoms can include swelling in the lower legs or ankles, pain or cramps in the legs, varicose veins, pain or skin changes. Treatment can include medication or in later stages with medical interventions.

Leavitt later added that the president experienced “no discomfort”. She moved into an upcoming letter from Barbabella about the treatment of the disease.

The press spokeswoman also spoke of bruises that appeared on the President's hand, which she attributed to his “frequent shaft” and his use of aspirin.

“This is in line with a slight soft tissue through frequent shake of the hand and the use of aspirin, which is recorded as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention program,” said Leavitt about Barbabella.
