Potential gas leaking forces evacuations at the Zarrow International School in Tulsa

The fire brigade of the Tulsa fire brigade react to a reported dangerous material leak at the Zarrow International School.

The school in the 3600 S. Hudson Ave. was evacuated as a precaution. Officials said the Hazmat teams were called to the scene to assess the leak and to contain.

Andy Little with Tulsa Fire told about 6 at the scene that around 60 students and faculties were evacuated as soon as the authorities reacted around 11:30 a.m.

He said they believe that the gas leak came from the cooking area, but that still has to be confirmed.

Two school buses were called to pick up the students, but Tulsa Fire said that firefighters were able to switch off the gas and ventilate the building in good time.

Little said two faculty members and a student were rated and considered okay.

The type and cause of the leak have not been confirmed.
