Tony Finau hopes to end suffering with bizzare drills at the British Open

Tony Finau was discovered outdoors with a funky training aid – but what is it and how can it help you?

At some point we all have to struggle on the greens in our golf career, but is there a worse time to fight with the flat stick than to try to prepare for the open? Well, that is exactly the case for Tony Finau, who used a bizarre put drill to try to get his attention back on the way.

The passing exercises may not be for everyone, but it certainly does not look conventional. It doesn't look like it is the put -drill that you would do if you believe that you are in a good place.

This is exactly the case for Tony Finau this season, which sits on the PGA tour on the PGA tour on the PGA tour (-7.229). The American certainly needs the help he can get if he wants to raise the Claret jug at Royal Portrush. How exactly does this unusual putting drill help?

The putting drill of the rod is most often seen with two alignment bars – one under every arm – and they cross under the putter handle. However, Finau has a decent invention, so that he does not have to spend time together to bring two alignment sticks together with an elastic band.

There are not many training aids with which you can attach your alignment to the wave of putter. With this connecting tool, however, you can keep them at the right angle to practice this drill.

The rod drill helps to generate a more connected and stable arm and torso movement and at the same time minimize unwanted wristlasses. The drill promotes a pendulum-like puter movement that leads to more consistent strikes.

Finau has never been seen as one of the best putters in the golf ball, and he clearly has the feeling that it is time to work on his coup because it could help him secure a place in the USA team at the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Maybe this drill is not as bizarre as it seems at first. When Finau is crowned for the Champion Golfers of the Year on Sunday, I know who will laugh!
