Sources – Damian Lillard closes the deal to return to Trail Blazers

The nine-time NBA all-star Damian Lillard concludes a three-year contract for $ 42 million for returning to the Portland Trail Blazers, Sources announced on Thursday with ESPN.

Lillards Deal is expected to contain a player option in 2027-28 and a no-trade clause.

In the past few weeks, Lillard and the Trail Blazer both have taken care of the comeback -with several meetings between the Portland franchise icon, General Manager Joe Cronin and head coach Chauncey Billups to connect with a new deal and bring United forward.

The Milwaukee Bucks waived Lillard at the beginning of this month, and extended the remaining 113 million US dollars for his contract to sign Free Agent Center Myles Turner.

Lillard will now have a salary from 2025-26 of $ 70 million between his offers in Portland and Milwaukee and a $ 141 million salary over the next two years before an opt-out in 2027. Blazers officials and Aaron Goodwin from Goodwin Sports Management are completed this week.

Lillard tore in game 4 of the Bucks' Bucks playoff series at the end of April with the Indiana Pacers his Achilles and was operated on in early May.

Lillard will use the 2025-26 season to rehabilitate his injury, but a return to Franchise and Portland, in which his family and children live, were of final importance. He also had several exception and minimum offers with a medium level of NBA competitors per sources.

Portland exchanged Lillard against Jrue Holiday, Toumani Camara and Assets in 2023 against the Bucks and then exchanged their vacation against Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon and Assets against the Boston Celtics.

Now the Blazer have both Lillard and holidays (in this secondary season in a trade with the Celtics) as well as Williams, Camara, a 2029 first-round and two Bucks-pick swaps.

Lillard spent 11 seasons with the Trail Blazers and did seven all-star appearances and seven all-NBA teams. He led Portland eight times into the playoffs, including the Western Conference published in 2018-19. He is in the team history in points (19,376) and 3-pointer (2,387) and on the second in the templates (6.069).

With the regular season and the playoffs, Lillard has seven 55-point games with the Trail Blazers. No other player in the history of the franchise has such games.
