The Brian Laviolette Foundation benefits from Neil Armstrong's customer -specific watch

Green Bay, Wisconsin (Wbay) – An extremely rare piece of American history now benefits a local non -profit organization that provides students in the northeast of Wisconsin.

In order to remind Neil Armstrong, which goes for a walk on the moon, the Omega Watch Company acted handmade, personalized time pieces for the Apollo crew.

A few years ago, Stefan Ostene, a wax collector, bought the clock in a coin shop in Ohio. It had Armstrong's name, but only later did he learn that the watch belonged to the famous Astronaut. He paid 2,300 US dollars for the watch and later sold a record of 2.1 million US dollars.

Enter the Brian Laviollette Foundation, a non-profit organization that was founded in 1992 on behalf of the 13-year-old Green Bay-Jungen, who died in a swimming accident. The foundation has now provided almost 1,200 students of scholarship funds and has a foundation of over 1 million US dollars.

Brian loved watches and watches have become a large part of the foundation's fundraisers. Doug Laviollette bought the e-Bay watch sold by Stefan. The two met and Doug shared the history of the foundation.

Stefan Watches have donated to the matter since then, but on Thursday he donated a check of $ 17,000 from the proceeds from the Armstrong Watch, more money from this auction has gone to charity organizations that were set by the Armstrong family. In order to bring the $ 17,000 into the right perspective, the foundation began with $ 22,000.
