Denis Shapovalov Crushes Govind Nanda in the tournament opener in Mexico


Los Cabos, Mexico-Canada's Denis Shapovalov drove 6-1 and 6-2 on Wednesday at the MiFel tennis Open on Wednesday at the American Govind Nanda.

Shapovalov had four aces to three double errors in the game, which only lasted an hour.

It was the first game of the Sommer Hard Court season for Shapovalov, which scored by the opening round as No. 3 seeds.

Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, also broke out five of his seven chances and won 73 percent of his first points.

Nanda had an ACE and a double mistake and won 57 percent of his initial care points.

He only broke out of four options once.

Shapovalov will compete in the quarterfinals against the winner of the Australia Tristan Schoolkate and Germany Daniel Altmaier.
