Fort Myer's husband gets a life for drug trafficking after violating probation | crime

A man will spend the rest of his life behind bars because he had violated the probation for a conviction of the 2003 murder. The case concerned the death of a police officer in Fort Myers.

Christopher Ward received a lifelong prison for violation of the probation that had violated the death of the police officer of Fort Myers, Daniel Stark. Ward was originally sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for this conviction. After his release, he was arrested in Lee County for new indictment for trade in Fentanyl.

Officer Starks was killed in a traffic accident on October 25, 2003 when he reacted to help the officials with a chase with Ward, which was in a vehicle.

The public prosecutor said that Ward was involved in offering a kilo of Fentanyl for sale for more than $ 50,000. The state was looking for a lifelong prison sentence that represents the maximum punishment for violation of probation.

“After today, I hope that the family and friends of Fort Myers police officer Daniel Stark can rest a little easier,” said prosecutor Fox.

Judge Nick Thompson was guilty of violating his probation and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
