The death of the mother in Garden Grove, which is connected to fatal shootout in Stockton – NBC Los Angeles

A husband and a wife were found dead on Thursday after two calls to two separate police stations were about 350 miles apart.

The Garden Grove police made a cruel discovery at 8 a.m. after a young girl called 911 and asked the officials to help her mother. Upon arrival, according to the police, the investigators discovered the 37-year-old Crystal Gonzalez in a short-term rental house in Morgan Lane.

The two children became intact and not aware of what happened, the police said.

The police started looking for Miguel Lopez, the father of the two children, before he received a tip from family members that his car had been discovered in the city of Stockton over 300 miles north.

According to the Stockton Police Department, the 35-year-old Lopez shot a 54-year-old man in the Elk Horn Reserve Country Club.

Records show that the couple shared a home in Lodi, about 6 miles south of the Stockton shooting.

The Garden Grove police said that Lopez left the Garden Grove house early Thursday morning. The investigators found no evidence of forced entry into the house.

It is still unclear how Gonzalez died.
