Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn would have celebrated his 419^TH Birthday of this week what my apology is to write about him. Rembrandt (he dropped out of the 'Harmenszoon' early and became known as simply Rembrandt) the largest artist of the Dutch golden age.

There are many documentaries about his life and work and I finally decided to share it about his most famous painting: The Night Watch (Militia Company of District II under the command of Captain Frans Banninck Cocq), 1642. This is my favorite video of Rembrandt for children about his most famous painting.

Art historian Dr. Beth Harris and Dr. Steven Zucker tell the history of the painting and its origin in simple, direct terms so that even adults can understand and appreciate it.
