The man gets life in prison for 2023 death of the 24-year-old in Volusia County

Volusia County, Fla. -A man was found guilty this week and sentenced to life in prison when a 24-year-old was shot in a Daytona Beach Apartment Complex in 2023.

Danitto Simpson was convicted of Donnell Williams during a four -day court procedure for the first degree murder.

According to the public prosecutor, Simpson and the victim in the courtyard of an apartment complex argue when Simpson took out a weapon and shot Williams. While Williams ran away, Simpson chased him and shot him from behind.

Williams later died in the hospital.
