New AMD Zen 6 “Magnus”-APU-LEKS: Potential PS6 or Xbox APU of the next generation shows Zen 6 CPU cores and Big IGPU

New AMD Zen 6 “Magnus”-APU-LEKS: Potential PS6 or Xbox APU of the next generation shows Zen 6 CPU cores and Big IGPU

There were many leaks and rumors about the specifications and the design of the Zen 6 CPUs from AMD. Many of these leaks, including information around 12-core CCDs, 3D-V cache with two layers and insane clock speeds, came to us with the kind approval of the law of Moore. The delicious has now published a new video that contains even more information about Zen 6 and an exciting new Zen 6 -APU code name “Magnus”.

While the entire video is worth trying out (linked in the end), our focus here is on the “Magnus” Zen 6 Apu. There is a chance that this custom ZEN 6-APU could appear in the next generation consoles.

According to a diagram divided by MLID in the video, the Zen 6 APU, the code name “Magnus”, 3x Zen 6 and 8x Zen 6c cores for unusual 11 -CPU cores. The SOC, which contains these Zen 6/Zen 6c CPU cores, is reportedly a relatively large 144 mm2, fabulous on the TSMC 3 -NM process and has 12 MB L3 cache.

The SOC cube is said to be tied to the graphics stamp with a “bridge stamp”. The graphic rod is apparently a human 264 mm2. The IGPU on this Zen 6 Apu has a 384-bit width bus. This is an important detail because the memory bandwidth is one of the most important bottlenecks of IGPUS for playing.

With a large punch size for both the SoC and graphics chips and a storage bus, the wider than 256-bit of Strix Halo, it is obvious that the Magnus APU is not intended for inexpensive systems. Mlid speculates that the Zen 6 Magnus -apu could be the APU from PS6 based on the code name and other references. We already know that Sony is building the customer -specific APU of the PS6 alongside AMD. An individual design with a huge IGPU therefore makes sense.

Leaker Kepler_L2, however, claims on X that the APU for the next generation Xbox does not match the usual code names that uses the Sony. The delicious also argues that “the design generally looks too expensive to be the PS6. Cerny is much more conservative with the area”.

Keep in mind that the next generation of the next generation is carried out under Windows and that Microsoft develops several Xbox consoles, an Xbox of the upper level with the Zen 6 Magnus-APU makes sense. Kepler_L2 speculates that with “> 400 mm² N3P (or even N3P+N2P?) Plus probably 36 GB GDDR7” of the next generation Xbox could cost more than $ 1,500.

No matter which console of the next generation uses the Zen 6 Magnus-APU, it seems that the hardware is not cheap. So if you were already unhappy about the pricing of current generation such as the PS5 Pro, the PS6/the next Xbox may be even worse.
