Woman shot and killed near the church in North Philadelphia

A 29-year-old woman was shot in front of a church in Northern Philadelphia early Friday morning, the police said.

Shortly after 12:40 p.m., the police reacted to a call from shots in the North 20th Street area and the West Lehigh Avenue near the evangelistic church of liberation.

The woman, who did not identify the police, was taken to the Temple University Hospital, where she was declared dead at 12.59 p.m., he said.

At least eight mussel covers were found at the scene, said Vanore, and the police continue to examine the shootout and are looking for surveillance material.

A motive for the shootout was unclear and no arrests were made.

Due to the amount of mussel sleeves, the police believe that the woman is possible that the woman has been targeted, said Vanore.
