After just a few weeks until the expected start of September 2025 in September 2025, the Rumor mill around the iPhone 17 series rotates faster than ever. So we bring you everything that is supposed to come.

Apple plans to change its usual four-model line-up. The iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max remain, but the plus model has disappeared. The iPhone 17 Air arrives in its place.

A new ultra -thin challenger

This model calls the iPhone 17 air and is thin and blocked. According to reports, it will be 5.5 mm thick without counting the camera base so that the slimest phone of Apple has done so far.

The name “Air” fits and Apple does not aim to bring the competition between the performance of the Pro models. Instead, it is marketed on its sleekness and its unique look. In short, this device could be Apple's headline grave from 2025.

Display sizes change

Apple is not satisfied with only design changes. The display sizes over the area. According to reports, the standard iPhone 17 will grow to a 6.27-inch display, which corresponds to the iPhone 16 Pro last year. The iPhone 17 air is tilted with a 6.6-inch screen, which is larger than the standard 17, but smaller than the per max.

Camera overhaul – for some

While the basic iPhone 17 holds on a well-known dual camera setup, Air, Pro and Pro Max presents a new rectangle camera rod in a pixel style that extends over the rear of the device. Expect that the Pro models will keep a triangular lens arrangement in this bar.

The Pro models also bring real camera upgrades. A new 48-megapixel telephoto lens combines the existing 48MP wide and ultra-width cameras. The first time that Apple built its top phones with a completely 48 megapixel system. The air gets a 48-megapixel hinter with a lentil, while the standard model 17 with the cameras of the past year seems to be captured.

Selfie cameras across the board come out great. All models are expected to be an improved 24-megapixel lens with the front and double the resolution of the front camera of the iPhone 16.

Promotion for everyone

Apple also plans to convey its promotion technology for all four models. So far, a pro-exclusive 120 Hz update rate will now have the entire iPhone 17 line-up. This also opens the door for ever-on displays beyond the Pro devices, although Apple has not yet confirmed this.

Material changes – and not where you can expect

While Titan has been the Pro standard since the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple can return to aluminum for the Pro- and Pro Max models this year. It is also rumored that these devices take half a aluminum, half a glass back, probably a step to improve durability without affecting the wireless charging skills.

Interestingly, the ultra-thin iPhone 17-air will be the only model made with a titanium chassis.

Connectivity of the next level

Pro models could debut Apple's internal Wi-Fi 7 chip. This promises faster data speeds, lower latency and more reliable connections. Standard models will probably stay with Qualcomm technology. However, it is expected that the tailor-made 5G modem from Apple will debut in the iPhone 17 Air and to completely break down Qualcomm chips in this model.

Strength, performance and cooling

The processing performance is another area of division. The Pro and Pro Max are to be built with the A19 Pro chip, while the standard air models from 17 and 17 use the standard A19. Both chips are built with the improved 3NM technology from TSMC, which promises better efficiency and performance.

Another reported improvement: heat management. Apple plans to integrate a steam combination cool system into all iPhone 17 models. A technology android manufacturer has had for years to prevent overheating and maintaining performance.

Battery and shop: faster, but not groundbreaking

Expect moderations here. According to reports, wireless charging speeds with Qi 2.2 charging devices from third-party providers are improved to 25W. This is a step from the current 15-W limit with third-party providers. However, Wired Lading is still limited to 35 W.

Smaller dynamic island? Perhaps.

Apple's dynamic island function could shrink this year, although the sources are divided. Some say that changes come to the line -up, while others claim that Apple will hold back to the iPhone 18 series.

New colors – and an orange surprise

The color palette is expanded in particular for the Pro models. Expect black, dark blue, silver and a brand new orange variant. In addition to black and white, standard models and the iPhone 17 Air are contained their own exclusive colors such as green, purple and light gold.

In summary, it can be said that the iPhone 17 series could be a big turning point. A thinner, more elegant air model replaces the Fading Plus, the doctorate as soon as a first -class function becomes standard functions. The camera upgrades tend strongly to the Pro models, while the air focuses on design and portability.

After seeing all the rumors, we are waiting now.
