Pixel Watch 4 can include “continuous” blood oxygen tracking, more, more, more

According to the latest reports, the upcoming Pixel Watch 4 from Google will apparently contain improvements in blood oxygen tracking, a form of satellite communication in emergencies and the support of Android 16's notification from.

The Pixel Watch 4 from Google seems to be a relatively small upgrade overall, but not without a handful of improvements. For example, recent leaks indicate larger batteries, new colors and vague hardware changes that enable repairs.

In further reports, Android headlines proposes a few more additions. This includes an expansion of the persecution of blood oxygen (SPO2) on the Pixel Watch 4, with which the “continuously” function can be carried out. As it looks today, this function only works overnight, but it sounds like it is running all day. This would enable a new function that notifies the carrier if the oxygen level is too low.

In the same report, “emergency satellite communication” is also mentioned briefly, but no further details are shared, as is the pattern lately with pixel leaks.

Another added function is the notification acceptance, a function in Android 16, which restricts the notification pam by switching off audible warnings and vibrations, “if you receive too many notifications at the same time”. It is claimed that the function on Pixel Watch 4 works similarly, but this is probably not exclusive to the clock 4, as it may be part of Wear OS 6.

Google confirmed a starting operator for its next pixel devices on August 20.
