The passenger's Mid-Air Meltdown forces forces the emergency landing for Skywest flight: Report

A Skywest flight was diverted to Iowa after a passenger tried to open the emergency exit on board and got into a fight with a flight attendant, reports say.

Mario Nikprelaj, 23, from Nebraska, was custody on Thursday at Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids after the “disorder in the air”, said the Cedar Rapids police.

“Was diverted to Cedar Rapids because this type decided to open the starting row door and then fight against the flight crew and other passengers,” wrote a traveler who was supposedly on the plane on X and divided a video in which the law enforcement authorities remove a man from the aircraft.

The pilot of Delta Air Lines 3612, which was operated as Skywest Flight 3612, was also negotiated on the Airo of Air Traffic Control that a passenger on board “tried to open the emergency exit in a fight with a flight attendant,” said ABC News.

The plane traveled from Omaha, Nebraska to Detroit, Michigan.

Data from the Flightsware website showed that the Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft landed in Cedar Rapids about an hour after the start on Thursday evening.

Both Skywest and the Federal Aviation Administration did not answer a request for a comment on Friday from FOX News Digital.

The police in Cedar Rapids said that Nikprelaj had been moved to the Linn County Correctional Center and, among other things, was charged with the first degree for assault, disordered behavior and harassment.
