Joe Casello, 74, an experienced legislator and former representative of the city beach, has suffered a massive heart attack and is not expected to recover.

From July 18, according to Jonathon McMahon, a long -term aid and confidante of Casello, the doctors were removed from life preservation from life maintenance.

Casello, a democrat that represents Florida House District 90, was brought to the HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis this month after complaining about chest pain. McMahon said that the damage to Casellos Heart was so serious that the only possibility, as he was kept alive, was due to life.

MP Mike Caruso, R-Delray Beach, said he and his wife Tracy met Casello for about half an hour on July 17th. Casellos Herz was only about 15% and, according to Caruso, he would make up for life preservation.

The legislative delegation of Palm Beach County sent an e -mail to its members that night, in which they were informed about the case.

“He was very clear,” said Caruso when he met Casello. “I asked him if I could do something for him. He said: 'See if you could get a fire engine that is named after me.'”

Caruso said Casello was missing and noted: “He worked with both sides of the gang. He always did the right thing. We need more Joe Casellos in the legislature.”

Caseless political career followed 33 years as a fireman Massachusetts

Casello was a firefighter in Worchester, Massachusetts for 33 years before moving to Palm Beach County. His first entry into politics was in 2013, where he became a city commissioner in Boynton Beach and won the seat with only three voices.

Since then he has gone to election winners, drove in 2018 in the Florida House of Representatives in the House of Representatives of District 90 and was then re -elected.

Caruso said Casello regretted not serving in the Palm Beach County Commission. He was limited to the State House and was a candidate who became a district commissioner who represented District 2 in the 2026 elections.

Casello published the following explanation at the end of July.

“In my life it was always about the public service and the needs of my community. For 33 years as a firefighter and for 13 years elected civil servant, the greatest honor of my life was. The representation of people – through times of unity and division, triumph and challenge – was a privilege that I will always give.

“To help people in their time of need was not just part of the job – it was a calling and a privilege that I always care about. For everyone who has supported me over the years: Thank you. I really cannot say enough. I love everyone of them.

“For the broader community: my goal was always to lead with common sense. Too often the political discourse in the way is in the way – and that only distracts us from the common good.

Victoria Nolan, managing director of the legislative delegation, asked the residents to keep Joe and his family in thoughts and prayers.
