Man who was arrested at the university of Saint Augustine for alleged copper theft.

The Raleigh police announced on Friday that they were arrested by a man who was accused of stealing copper by heating, ventilation and air conditioning on the university campus.

Around 8:26 a.m. Friday, the Raleigh police reacted to the 1315 Oakwood Ave. in relation to theft of air conditioning systems. The officials arrested Ronald Hyman on Friday, but did not say which construction of the alleged crime was done.

The police did not say whether they were looking for other participants.

On Friday, Wral News spoke to Sandy Chapman, who works with certainty and landscape design at the university as a track trainer. Chapman said several men stolen from a building.

On Saturday, June 28th, around 10:14 p.m., the Raleigh police reacted to support the Raleigh fire department at the crime scene in the Sarah Hunter Lane 1341. Nobody was injured, the Raleigh police said.

The fire was out when the first aiders arrived according to the police. The Raleigh fire brigade said the scene was safe.

It is unclear whether Hyman was involved in the incident of June 28th.

The crimes come in the middle of the recent financial problems of Saint Augustine.

Chapman described the financial situation of the university “quite depressing”.
