Apple sued Youtuber Jon Pro ProSser because of alleged iOS 26 Leck, trade secrets theft

Apple sued Youtuber Jon Pro ProSser because of alleged iOS 26 Leck, trade secrets theft

Apple has taken a remarkable legal step against one of his most famous leaks and sued Youtuber Jon Proser before the US District Court of North California because he supposedly orchestrated a plan to obtain and management of trade secrets from a confidential iPhone prototype with iOS 26.

The iPhone manufacturer decided to take a step to ask how ProSser receives his insider information.

Within the alleged iOS losing schemas

As stated in the complaint, ProSser, known for his YouTube channel “Front Page Tech”, has supposedly teamed up with Michael Ramacciotti, who has accessed a secret iPhone of the Apple software engineer Ethan Lipnik.

The phone, filled with Apple's unpublished iOS 26 software, was reportedly left unattended in Lipnik's apartment. While Lipnik was gone, Ramacciotti allegedly shared the content of the device with a prosser about a video conference.

Apple's complaint claims that ProSser has orchestrated the leak and offered to pay for Ramacciotti for it. The submission also claims that ProSser used the stylized information to create and release what he described as “the greatest iOS leak ever”. These videos were officially unveiled long before the Cupertino giant iOS 26 officially revealed and possibly revealed Apple's highly secret development process.

However, the Apple's account refutes the prosser. In tweets on the social website X, he denied everyone, pulling the information from the device or delivering money for insider knowledge. Although he admitted that he publicly shared the details, ProSser claims that he did not know how accessed, he was wired.

Apple could use American laws

The leak has already caused Apple Fallout. The company dismissed Ethan Lipnik for violating internal security procedures, including the protection of development devices. Lipnik is publicly silent on this matter.

Right analysts find that this case differs from Apple's usual leak probes that have the sources in Asia in its supply chain. Since this was an event in the United States, Apple can use American laws such as DEFEND trade secrets and the computer fraud and abuse more easily.

Anshel Sag, Senior Analyst by Moor Insights & Strategy, described the case as significant and found that Apple has a stronger legal status than usual, since it is a US-based YouTuber.

The future of Tech -Lecks is in danger

The latest lawsuit could awaken important technology companies for the online creators who benefit from LECKS, content that may drive a digital hype but often interfere with product launches and impair proprietary innovations.

ProSser, who says that he heard from the suit through a Macrumors article, regrets the result for Lipnik.

“I feel terrible that Ethan has been terminated,” says Proser. “I wish he had shared Apple what had happened and I wish Apple had associated with me to get further answers – I would have loved to entertain you.”

If you know the story of Apple in dealing with complaints, this will be a long legal struggle for ProSser.
