Indian activists take Palestinian solidarity protest in the big market in Neu -Delhi

Neu -Delhi: Indian activists gathered on Saturday for a Palestinian solidarity rally in one of the most busy industrial areas in Neu -Delhi.

Although support for the Palestinian statehood was once an integral part of Indian foreign policy, the Indian government has come closer to Tel Aviv in recent years and has remained largely calm since Israel started its fatal attack on Gaza strip in October 2023. Neu -Delhi delivered Israeli forces and committed to weapons agreements.

Indian civil society and the students have taken solidarity on the streets with Palestinians and protest against the government. On Saturday, demonstrators wore Palestinian flags, “Free Palestine” posters and posters with the inscription “Stop the Völkermur” in Nehru Place, a prominent trade center in the Indian capital, when they tried to include passers -by in talks and raise awareness of Israel on Gaza.

“To come to a place like this is really an attempt to take the protest (on) ordinary Indians because it is your heart and thoughts that we want to take up the most.

“There was a suppression of Pro-Palestinian voices all over Europe and North America, but there was considerable setback and resistance in other countries. India did not see this type of social setbacks on the open complicity of the government with the … Zionist project of the Israeli government,” continued Mander.

The protest on Saturday organized by the Indians for the Palestine movement withdrew from Saturday from the usual demonstration of Jantar Mantar in the center of Neu -Delhi. But it also met with resistance, with some participants being the goal of harassing market visitors.

“The choice of Nehru-Platz as a website was symbolic and open, public marketplace, which was frequented by people, students, students and office seekers. “Despite everything, the message of the meeting remains clear: there are Indians who stand with the people of Palestine – and will continue to stand.”

Members of Indian civil society want to educate people about the situation in Gaza in order to counteract a lack of awareness, said Pamela Philipose, journalist and senior scholarship holder at the Indian Council for Social Sciences.

“Let me tell you that almost 90 percent of people (in Nehru Place) would not have heard of Gaza, and the 10 percent who did not know what happened in the Gaza; that people die, that people are hungry, that there is a cruel state called Israel who attacks them … they know nothing about it,” she said Arab news. “And that educates them. A protest is always an apprenticeship. We believe that.”

Israel has reportedly killed more than 58,700 Palestinians since October 2023 and violated more than 140,000 more. However, the real number of actual fatalities is feared, with research being released in January in January in January in January to estimate a subdivision of deaths by 41 percent.

The study adds that the reported number of fatalities does not include deaths, injuries and lack of health care, which are caused by the largest part of the Gaza infrastructure and the blocking of medical and food aid.

“It is extremely important to protest because the atrocities that take place in Gaza are unprecedented in the history of the world. It is as bad as, if not worse than in Nazi Germany,” said Nandita Narain, a retired professor at the University of Delhi, to Arab News.

“If we do not protest today, we have lost our humanity. Humanity can only survive if people occur for each other … India has already suffered a colonial rule. We should understand better than everyone else who has to support those who were exposed to the brutal occupation of imperialist powers.”
