Apple sues Tech Youtuber Jon ProSser for leaky iOS 26 details

In January, Youtuber Jon Prosser began to reveal early representations of Apple's iOS 26 on his channel. Frontpagetech. For the first time, he presented a newly designed camera concept. Then, in March, he teased a bold “liquid glass” R redesign in iOS 26. By April he offered a more detailed preview of the new look. On Thursday, however, Apple submitted a lawsuit to a federal court in Northern California. The company accused ProSser and another person, Michael Ramacciotti, abuse the business secrets in connection with iOS 26.

ProSser denied Apple's claims in a contribution to X that contested her version of the events.

Jon Proser responded to the lawsuit in one post on X and denied Apple's claims. He reacted to a Macrumors article, he wrote, “So it didn't go at the end. For the recording, I certainly didn't” glue “to access on someone's phone and was not aware of the situation.”

In the lawsuit, Apple did not call for any damage and a court order to prevent ProSser from sharing additional unpublished business secrets that were possibly on the device.

According to the lawsuit, Apple received an anonymous tip on April 4th. The tip connected the leaks with Ethan Lipnik, a software engineer at Apple between 2023 and 2025. This was months before Apple officially introduced iOS 26 at his WWDC event.

Apple claims that ProSser had asked Ramacciotti to access the phone to Lipnik's development. The suit says that Ramacciotti, a friend of Lipnik, stayed in his house. While Lipnik was gone, Ramacciotti allegedly accessed the device by receiving his password.

“He then made ProSser a video call and displayed unpublished iOS 26 functions, says Apple.”

In the lawsuit it is claimed that ProSser has made the call. He then used the film material to create detailed renderings that he later published on YouTube. Apple also claims that ProSser shared the video with others. A spectator recognized Lipnik's apartment in the background and reported it Apple.

Apple is very careful to protect the secrecy of its unpublished products and functions. These protective measures can only go so far to protect against bad actors who are determined to steal Apple's business secrets.
