The latest leak has unwanted news

The latest leak has unwanted news

Apple is to publish four iPhones in September (read here for the exact release date). In addition to the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be a super thin model, which is called iPhone 17 Air. However, the thin profile has an impact when it comes to how long the battery lasts.

Since the new phone is only 5.5 mm thick from front to (even thinner than the recently released Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge), there is not much space for a large battery.

Pressing things into such a slim device as this will be difficult – and maybe only a reversing camera is expected on it, since sensors and lenses take place within the framework of the interior and outside from the outside.

iPhone 17 Air: The bad news

A new contribution to Weibo by normal leaker instant digital, which was picked up by Macrumors, states that the battery capacity will be less than 3,000 mAh. If you have reports that the iPhone 17 Pro Max (probably a record professional for thickness and other functions) have a 5,000 mAh battery and you can see why people may be disappointed.

After all, a thin, beautiful design is desirable, but not if it unfolds at lunchtime.

This report confirms an earlier rumor that the battery has a lower capacity than most iPhones in recent years.

However, there is also good news.

iPhone 17 Air: The good news

The tasty has a certain comfort: “Although the battery does not exceed 3000 mAh, the entire performance -saving mode should be able to keep one day,” they say.

The performance -saving mode seems to refer to the adaptive power mode, which comes with iOS 26, which Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has previously determined and which should provide a windfall with additional battery life for all iPhone 17 models – and even some current iPhones.

Note that instant digitally still requires “one day” of the battery life. But after all, almost everyone calculates their iPhone overnight, right?
