I tried Matt Fitzpatrick's cross-hand chipping technique

Anyone who played me Golf will say that my short game is at best unpredictable. After seeing the open (and with very little losing), I thought I would try Matt Fitzpatrick's cross-hand chipping technique.

Fitzpatrick led the field for Strokes, which were won in the first two rounds in the first two rounds this week.

For those who observe the reporting who also want to try cross-hand chipping for the first time, I decided to contact one of our monthly golf trainers to get their expert advice.

I tried Matt Fitzpatricks Cross -Hand -Chipping Technology

Cross -handed can be a great exercise to improve your chipping. However, if it works, you can also take it on on the course – just like 2022 US Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick.

As you can see in the video below, I put this interesting technology on the course for 18 holes to see if it could help to improve my short game.

In the first holes I gave myself more chances than I would ideally like to chop around the green.

At the first and second hole I had the opportunity to get up and down, but in honesty I let myself feel a little nervous about the ball.

On the first I hit a slightly thin chip shot and left a par putt of about 15 feet, while my attempt on the second hole had a much better connection, but it occurred a little short.

The first time I saw the benefits of this technique was my third recording in the 5th, the Par-4, which you can see at the end of the video, and another 15-foot put that I would make unusual.

Although at some point I got the shoot and some more positive results, I definitely had the feeling that I needed more practice in the short play area.

How to break off cross-hand chip hands

Whenever you make a golf change, create a pattern that develops a new neuronal path in the brain and replaces you that may keep you back on the pitch.

For a number of reasons, amateur golfers could benefit from trying out the cross-handed technology, including the repair of the chipping yips, and it only requires a few subtle changes to the traditional method that they have seen when learning.

Similar to the left hand, which is located with the handle-ready hint of hand-chipping technology, the squares of the shoulders help and remove some of the wrist sections that may cause problems in their short game.

If you go on the left hand during chipping, you can avoid being too “funky” with your wrists – this makes it a great drill that you can use in the short play area.

To try it yourself, put your left hand right on the handle of the club (for right -hand golfers) – down the shaft a little further than for a normal iron shot.

As in your normal golf handle, you can join or overlap, or you can let your hands sit with each other as you would do in your left hand – this is just a question of personal preference.

The perfect ball position is the same as a normal chip shot that is forward in the middle, with its weight distribution favors your front throughout the swing.

Slim with regard to the forward wave, look for about 10 degrees. Do not go too sour to press your hands forward, as this can lead to digging into the ground and negating the advantages of jumping on your wedges.
