Xander Schauffele does not hold trophies; “I have no idea” where gold medal is

Portrush, Northern Ireland – do not feel bad so that Xander Schauffele has to return the Claret jug when he arrived at Royal Portrush to defend his title in the open championship. It's not like he has somewhere to keep it.

Schauffele won eight times in his PGA Tour career, including the open, the PGA Championship and the Tour Championship. There is also the Tokyo's Olympic gold medal in 2021.

Where can you keep everything? Not in his house. Schauffele said his parents keep all of his trophies “probably in a bank vault”. You have a home in San Diego and his father builds a place in Kauai and lives in what Stefan Schauffele calls “the container”.

The gold medal?

“I actually have no idea where it is to be honest,” said Schauffele.

It is not so surprising when you consider how easy Schauffele and his wife Maya Lowe prefer to live. He celebrates a little more than Scottie Scheffler, but similar to the number 1 player in the world, it is until the next tournament to start over.

“What do I do with it? I don't really invite people to my house. Will I just look at it myself?” Said Schauffele. “I don't want to go to a trophy space like 'Look at how great I am.' I only grew up to think that way, and it is somehow tight.

This raises the question: What is on the shelves of your house in Florida, if not trophies?

“My wife hung a few pictures of me in my gym in which I won the Olympic medal, and she put it so high that I couldn't achieve it,” said Schauffele. “I have to get a ladder now, and it bothers me. If at all, put me in a master jacket, so I would annoy me, you know what I mean? Something is more motivating.”

If there were shovels, he would hang photos of his dogs. Or nothing. Maybe a watch.

“I'm always too late, so a watch would be good for me,” said Schauffele.

He said, the captain of Ryder Cup, Keegan Bradley, told him that he should certainly enjoy great victories, and Schauffele will do that at some point.

“But at the moment I really want to lower my head and continue to charge,” he said.
